Lester Holt at Dean’s Disntinguished Lecture Series
Yesterday at Elkins. So awesome! He spoke on the democratization of journalism and citizen journalism, the changing face of news and the impacts of technology on the news cycle. His advice to graduating seniors stuck: “Work somewhere you can learn something from someone.” Seems obvious enough right? He also stressed the importance of knowing how to do a lot of things: writing, camera operation, editing — whatever needs to be done — as specialization is not as important anymore.
