In a few short weeks, summer will be upon us. You know what that means: beach, beach bodies and meeting and talking to beach bodies. But courtship sure has changed since mom and pop used to wait beside the phone on the kitchen wall. The first crucial step, after the awkward number exchange, has graduated with technology… thanks to the text message. Texts offer the potential to deliver an edited, perfected, overanalyzed version of what you would tell that hottie if you were smarter, feistier and more confident. Let’s face it— we’re not all so suave in person, but with a few polishing points, you can prepare to charm the pants off the cutie of your choice this summer. And never forget the No. 1 rule of warm weather romance: Practice safe text.
1. Who texts first? OK, I’ll admit it. I am a fan of “I’m The Girl. You’re The Boy. You Text Me First Or We Don’t Talk Today” on Facebook. For what it’s worth, however, I don’t always follow that most honorable and conventional creed.
